Policy Innovation by Design is a research group within Loughborough University London’s Institute for Design Innovation focussing on how design can contribute to the development of public sector innovations, especially through more equitable public policies and their associated services.

This novel field of study and practice often referred to as Design for Policy, is currently only being included in seven UK Higher Education Institutions, as per the AHRC Challenges of the Future 2020: Public Policy report, and Loughborough University London has been pioneering on it since 2016.
